Aquatic Therapy
Vila Joya’s Floating Room

Feel the flow
For a long time, we have been looking for something to complement our classic wellness concept. Why? Over the years, so many of our guests have pointed out the harmonious combination of architecture, unique acoustics and natural design of the Spa. The sea view accompanied by the quiet echo of the ocean is so very special here. So we searched for a complementary treatment method that would take up precisely these aspects, reflect them soulfully and gently emphasize them – healing and soothing. At the end of 2024, we finally found it: our Aquatic Bodywork, the practice of Float Therapy. We very much look forward to your feedback.

What our guests say
Pleasant view inside
“There’s plenty of room in the pool, even for me, and I’m almost 2 meters tall. I almost immediately acclimate to the warm water – and lean back. There’s a special sound. It’s pleasant and familiar. I realize that it’s reminiscent of the ocean, a sound ubiquitous throughout the Vila, only softer and more gentle, lulling you into a state of tranquility. It feels like a slow carousel ride, yet almost nothing turns. Rather, my view wanders inwards and I find myself in a sea of repose. I can’t wait to return.”
What our guests say
Perfect relaxation
“A surprising experience – mind and body would have found weightless peace and quiet. At last. I hadn’t expected this perfect relaxation experience. I will do it again. And then maybe again… :-)”

The Floating Room
Guided, alone or as a couple – Aquatic Bodywork can ideally meet your needs. This is another reason why we attach great importance to a preliminary talk with you. Our Floating Room and the freshwater pool decorated with a special mosaic are deliberately spacious. Any feeling of confinement should be avoided. We have placed great emphasis on natural and calming colors. The water temperature is slightly below your body temperature. To begin with, we recommend a joint session with our therapists.
Our „Aquatics“
Our team has been intensively trained by experts in the forms of Aquatic Bodywork. This includes one-on-one, small groups guided sessions and feedback sharings with each other. This allows us to continuously optimise the treatments to meet your individual needs.

History and background information
Floating experiments and corresponding tanks were developed by the doctor John C. Lilly back in the 1960s. Lilly’s idea and aim was to shield people from external stimuli as much as possible. Initially, the topic was limited to a pure research interest. Commercialisation in the USA – and later worldwide – began at the end of the 1970s. In the meantime, not only has public interest increased, but research in the medical field and offers in the wellness sector are also rising.
