Vila Joya's wine cellar is a unique masterpiece that is home to 12.000 bottles of Portugal's best wine and a huge variety of the top wines from around the world.
Two cascades of cold water keep the temperature and humidity constant which is perfect for preserving a fine bottle of wine.
The slate and stone wine cellar is the perfect extension of Portugal's only two Michelin Star restaurant at Vila Joya. Once a week, our sommelier Arnaud Vallet offers tastings of Portugal’s best wine in combination with delicious tapas, created by two Michelin Star Chef Dieter Koschina.

Sommellier
Our sommelier, Arnaud Vallet, is a consummate wine professional. Vallet received his experience in the best Michelin star restaurants in France and throughout Europe.
Vallet joined Vila Joya’s culinary team in 2007 and oversees our 12,000 bottle wine cellar of the best wine from Portugal and around the world. Once a week, sommelier Vallet offers wine tastings in combination with tapas created by Chef Koschina.
Tasting
Once a week our sommelier, Arnaud Vallet, offers our guests the opportunity to discover the best wine of Portugal with an intimate wine tasting.
Every Friday, Vallet and chef Dieter Koschina of Portugal’s only two Michelin star restaurant present Portuguese wine and tapas in the unique tasting room of Vila Joya’s 12.000 bottle wine cellar.
Gloria Reynolds Club
Since 2008 Portugal’s only two Michelin star restaurant at Vila Joya has been a member of honour in the very exclusive Gloria Reynolds Club.
The Reynolds family has been involved in the wine industry in Portugal since 1820. The club, founded by Gloria’s son Julian Reynolds, offers some of the best wine in Portugal from the Gloria Reynolds Winery at Figueira de Cima.
